Rick Baptist

Rick was born with Asthma, which he still has.  At the age of 10 his left lung collapsed and the doctor suggested he take up a wind instrument.  By age 16 Rick was subbing with the San Francisco Symphony and Oakland Symphony.
At 20 Rick moved to Reno to play first trumpet at Harrah’s Reno.  After 2 years, he moved to Las Vegas where he was first trumpet with the Relief Band.  This band worked 6 different hotels every week.
In 1980 Rick left Las Vegas to move to Los Angeles and break into the L.A. studio scene.
To date, Rick has played on over 1000 Motion Picture Soundtracks, over 1400 different cartoon shows, and has been the first trumpet on the Academy Awards for 23 years and the Emmys for 18 years. Rick’s career in LA reads like this: he has played on  shows, including Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, and most of the Disney shows like Buzz Lightyear, Timon and Pumba and many more.
Rick has played on over 50 Gold or Platinum records, Including: Sinatra's Duet 1 and 2, Linda Ronstadt with Nelson Riddle albums, and Barbara Streisand's Broadway Album to name a few.
